Last august I worked with film maker Em Cole and Bompas and Parr in making the short film 'Sloppy Seconds' which premiered at Berlin Fashion Film Festival as part of their official selection this weekend!

Bridle

I'll be directing a piece of new writing by actress and wordsmith Stephanie Martin next week, for Camden People's Theatre's Hotbed: Festival of Sex.

Bridle is a superb contemporary text and definitely one to watch! You'd be a fool to miss it:

Mushrooms

This week I directed a short piece of new writing for all female theatre company, Instinct Theatre. We were lucky enough to create a multimedia piece using microphones and live sound-scaping in collaboration with Brigitte Hart (violin) and Chloe Penney (harp).

Mushrooms, by Benjamin Wal

Director: Chloe Doherty

Marina Tapakoudes

Eliza Perraine

"Two women are struggling with their relationship and decide to take magic mushrooms as a novel kind of joint therapy. The tension is clear between them, but eventually, as they wait for the drugs to have an effect, they begin to warm to each other again, and reminisce about beginning of their relationship. But as they become comfortable, a confession is made."

Punchdrunk

I've spent this weekend at Fallow Cross working with Punchdrunk's Maxine Doyle. We worked for Punchdrunk's improvisational movement techniques and explored the space/set both physically and emotionally as audience member and performer through different tracks and soundscapes.

The moment they open their R&D space to the public I seriously urge you to check it out! The attention to detail was phenomenal.

Again, no photos allowed! So, you'll just have to take my word for it!

The Night That Flows

This week I was involved in an immersive corporate event for Les Enfants Terribles at the Print Works! Unfortunately it's all super secret so photos and details were a no go!

But I CAN share a short trailer for the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_53hCyR8RAo

24 Hour Plays

This month i've been working in collaboration with Rich Gifts Theatre to direct a play in 24 hour hours. The event is based on the collaboration of a series of professional directors, actors and writers. We meet on the friday night to discuss groupings, the writers spent all of saturday writing about their chosen topic from the last 24 hours in current affairs, and sunday the directors and actors work together to create a piece for public viewing in the evening. I had the pleasure of working with New York playwright David Vazdauskas to create a short live noir parodying Russia's place in the American election. We also have the pleasure to work with improv pianist Richard Baker (The Play That Goes Wrong) to create a jazz underscore and cabaret national anthem.

This is something which we are currently turning into a neo-noir short, and we have a fabulous team on board! Cinematographer: http://fabioguglielmelli.com/ Stylist: www.saskiacole.com

I will also continue my work with Rich Gifts Theatre, directing one political play every month at a different theatre, and in 24 hours! http://www.richgiftstheatre.com/deadline/

I'll post the link to tickets for January's show here
